    new monitor

it's uber. Wide screen, 1280x768, crazy bright, crisp, and very decent for games.

I was surprised at the game performance of this thing. The trailing is still noticable, but it's very acceptable.

I don't see any dead pixels yet. I was worried I was gonna have to send it back because of a dead pixel.

Yep, thats why i bought a CRT when I got a new moniter last year. 24 inches of CRT gold sitting on my desk. Head to hack the desk to bits in the back just to fit it in.

the text is great, as are the colors. Trailing is only barely noticable in very fast-paced games like FPS games (which I don't play).

i really recommend this monitor. Read some reviews on the Samsung 172T... they all rave about the color quality and brightness. The 172W has identical specs but it's impossible to find reviews on it.

my main reason for getting a LCD was for the reduced eye strain (no flicker or emissions).

i would get an apple display if they didn't have a proprietary video connector... that pisses me off, and I don't want to pay for the adapter.

I have a Sony G400 19" CRT which I love, but man I've wanted the GDM-FW900 24" widescreen for so long now.

Looks nice. I'm still on a big bulky moniter... of course, when I'm not on a laptop...

Eizo FlexScan L565, a bit pricey, especially in UK, but worth it. 1280x1024 is wonderful on it.
