    Just add another account.
Or assign it to a workgroup or domain and then it will require you to enter you username and password everytime.

I'll have to look at XP when I get home from work, but adding it to a workgroup will require CTRL+ALT+DEL logging in, so this should stop it from automatically logging in to the admin acct. I see what other options you might have if anyone else doesn't answer first.

XP doesn't login admin automatically on bootup by default. This would be done only by editing reigstry or using gui tools like tweak xp, you should check for that.

control panel, user accounts, click the admin account, click create a password, this will be the password you enter when you logon on boot.

the account will then say password protected..

Get something like TweakUI for XP, and in Logon section, uncheck Autologon... That should solve the problemo.

Run, regedit, locate the following registry subkey:
                          HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion
                          \Winlogon

Click Add Value on the Edit menu
In the Value Name box, type DefaultPassword, and then click REG_SZ for the Data Type
Type your password in the String box, (be sure to type it correctly) and then save all the changes before closing regedit.

if that dont work try this

                            Thanks Ascendin, that worked...THANKS AGAIN!

Now, does anyone know how to turn off programs that start at windows startup? I want to manage all programs that start.

                              no problem

                              question 2, 3 ways.

startup folder, delete any entries you dont want to startup during startup.
                              start/run/msconfig startup tab

and the service applet in admin tools, you can set services to manual so they wont start on bootup or completely disable them all together.

an example would be the messenger service (not to be confused with MSN messenger, they are two very different things)
