    Online Payments (Not Paypal!)

I was hoping someone could help me out in this forum. What are some of the best online payment systems? I have to set up a store, and need something that will accept all credit cards, have no registration to use it (if possible) and have good rates.

Anyone use anything great at a good price, and if so what are the URLs?

So far I have checked out:

    Paypal (not good enough)
    CCNow.com (too expensive)
    Revecom.com (not sure yet)

I'm using 2CheckOut (www.2checkout.com). The support is absolutely awful, so if you don't know what you're doing - don't bother with them. I haven't had to use their support yet, but a glance at the forums shows how bad the situation is. (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=54843)

I use 2checkout.com as well and haven't had any problems, but their system is not the most intuitive...

      Also, check out paysystems.com

Isn't it possible to accept payments through PayPal *without* the client/customer signing up for an account? Bloody stupid if you can't

what's the big deal? really the only extra bit of info required is a password.

many sites on the net (using their own cc processing) require you to set-up accounts.

I really do not see why this is a issue with people.

Miss Behaviour: if you're looking for a "free" service like Paypal, good luck finding a better one. There are cc services out ther that are a bit better, but they will cost you at least a monthly fee.

That is an issue because of the extensive account verification procedure that users have to go through when registering with PayPal. I know it took me at least 2 weeks to get my account activated when I registered...I don't know if it is different for US users.

Most online providers do not charge a monthly fee. The vast majority charge a small startup fee then a percentage of the transactions. Typically the ones that charge a monthly fee will have much lower transaction %'s.

                  Hi,

I realize that creating an account may seem inconvenient, but I have found the following out about shopping online (without creating an account there):

                  a) I still have to provide my email address
                  b) I still have to provide the credit card number
                  c) I still have to provide personal information

I think many users look at creating an account negatively, but I have actually found the process to be pretty much the same wherever I shop online.

The membership process can be a slight burden for some international users. However, those with online statements should be able to get the membership number relatively quickly. The membership process is in place to reduce the probability of credit card fraud.

that does not matter if all they're doing is making a payment to you.

You need to shop around more, then When I bought off Amazon for the first time, I didn't need to wait for a mini-charge to show on my online statement so I could verify my account.
That's no good if someone's wanting to buy off a site that only offers PayPal, when a competitor offers immediate CC payments. They'll go to whoever can process their order the quickest. Why not just offer a simple payment gateway without the need to open an account?
