    Web Photo Albums

I'm looking for some good software and I was hoping some of you fine folks could help

I need either a php or perl script, matters not to me, to manage an online photo album or gallery. I visited sourceforge.net and hotscripts.com and installed numerous scripts. I wasn't satisfied with any of them really.

I want one that is good quality and easy to use. Of course, that's what we all want, right? It's very important that the script have the ability to allow the admin to upload new images via a web interface. Automatic thumbnailing is a must as well. Guests must not have the ability to post or edit images. Each image must have the option of having a caption and a "next" "previous" link.

I don't think that's asking for just too much, but it doesn't seem that any of the album software I've installed so far has those simple features and isn't overloaded with extra stuff. If you use or know of some good photo album software, please let me know

    Regards,
    Mark

You really can't beat Gallery. It will do everything you want - and more! I've got it in action on my site here (see the Califronia and Aruba albums to see how it handles very large files). The admin interface is awesome - not only does it allow you to add individual photos via a form, but it also imports image files from a directory that you specify on your server (great for uploading large numbers of files via FTP and then importing them over to Gallery).

Wow, "gallery" is super nice!!! It took me a while to get up and running because my server had an old version of NetPBM. But once I got that squared away, it was easy to set up. Thanks for the great suggestions I finally found a good one to suit my needs!!

Ok, this one is really nice and professional. Anyone know of an integration project with vBulletin and this?

I use a program called "Calogic". It's excellent. It can generate e-mail reminders as well.

You can find the software at: http://www.calogic.de
