I considered this before I started my board and came to the conclusion that I could not be held liable based on an article (I'm looking for it) about AOL. Basically, and vaguely, somebody sued AOL for stuff its members said somewhere. The court ruled that AOL was like the phone company: they facilitate communication but they are not responsible for what is communicated.
Disclaimer: this is not legal advice, it's just my opinion. I'm not a lawyer, a judge, or politician. If you get in trouble 'cause I sort of quoted an article I can't find or remember very well, that's your problem. If you want to hold me responsible for what you did, send money first.
