WoW! I've seen the flashkit forum before, haven't seen the others before, I would love my board to do so well, but at the moment, with 166 members, it's just not working lol, and with only 100mySQL connections available it wouldn't work out, I can just about afford the situation I'm in right now, I could do with a few thousand members though

well i guestimate the running costs for every 30,000 members it would probably cost you US$1000/mo to run the forum on proper hardware

          so 300,000 members ~ US$10,000+/month to run

          of course that's an guestimate

Impressing, very few german boards have around ~10,000 members or maybe more... guess web-communites are more an american/uk thing.
What do you think, could this be said?

that would be one heck of a member's list. I see where they have taken that button off their forums

Of course, flashkit is owned by Internet.com so they probably have no problem paying for it.

Linkin Park also uses vB on their other site for the LP Members. www.lpunderground.com. I am a member there and I recommend it to any LP fans. For 25 bucks you get a tshirt, signed 8x10 by all 6 guys, patch, 2 stickers, and the old ep before they were linkin park.
