I am writing this now because I think it's time vBulletin is held accountable for license selling.
vBulletin must introduce a new system so that when people do buy a 2nd hand license that they must go through an automatic process so that the new owner will have the details for the license they bought second hand changed to their details.
I bought a license from a genuine seller and paid $200 for a vB4 suite license, now I have logged in many many times and after nearly 4 years my password needed to be changed as I changed the password the message said new password details have been sent to your registered email address, so I tried logging in with new password, but it came up user/password incorrect, but the registered email was from the previous owner who no longer uses that email and can not be contacted, so I contacted vBulletin and they said quote "there is nothing we can do" well I think that's a load of hog wash because I have proven to them all the old domain that I have changed on that license and I even told them the running site domain name and that site is not running anymore, so vBulletin's answer quote "there is nothing we can do" why cant vBulletin just simply add my email to the account?
This is why I think vBulletin must do something to protect us buyers who have taken over the old owners license and now own's the license, but the old owner never changed he's details to my details and now he is not contactable. I even told vbulletin he's name Charlie S**** their reply quote "there is nothing we can do"
I still haven't got access to the members area, so I am running my new site without registering it in my members area the new domain.
So what do you think should happen to protect buyers who buy 2nd hand license?
