How do you manage your customers? (Software)

I used to use Access but I don't like it much anymore. I am wondering what kind of database you guys use to manage your customers. Maybe something that you can merge names etc.

One key feature I am looking to get is a program that will allow me to specify next time they owe a payment. For example, if someone pays one year in advance then in one year I would like something to notify me on the program they have a payment due.

    Any ideas?

symantec act is what ya need

it has a lot of powerfull features. Its actually a contact management program so it is brillinat for managing pro active stuff and as you can create several different groups you can group them clients, potentials etc.

you can make notes on each acccounts, schedule phone calls, meetings and custom reminders (payments!)

excellent piece of software, it has mail. email merge etc

think they do a trial also.

im currently writing a script for this. A client control panel which lets my customers log in and check the status of their page, their information, edit their information, add/view new projects, add/view support tickets.

Ill post a test account after im completed.

Sounds nice .. web based would be very good! But, I would need to be able to export the information so I can mail merges etc. What is the ETA on this?

Are you going to release this program to the public?

i might make it a commercial script. Depends on how many people would be interested in purchasing it.

How long do you think before it's ready for people to look at and use?

It's nice but I need something that do do invoices etc. I guess I'll stick with MS Access .. ACT was nice but didn't have much on the invoicing side.

that wouldnt be that hard to add to this. i could have so you can make an invoice automatically pretty easy. and also that would be a good feature to add anyway.

And you need to make sure it can export data to excel are something.

that was the plan. You will be able to export your data to excel or print it from the web.
