vBulletin SEO add on

I purchased the SEO program for vBulletin several months ago and do not understand how it is supposed to work. At the end of the post there is a place to add a URL to linkback. What goes in this place? How can I make the most of this program? Right now I feel like I've wasted $200+ dollars. Granted I'm not real savvy when it comes to the hows and whys of computer programs but I can follow simple directions. Managed to get my forum online and have been running for 4 years now! Help?

Also should I add tags to every thread or ask members to add tags?
