Maybe addys filtered when SEO-related mods were marked by user in vb.org? No idea, otherwise. I don't use this address publicly.

It's just a minor annoyance, and the spam finally stopped. But bizarre.

I have a feeling they hit vbseo stole all the user database and then emailed them all.

Why? because now with vbseo going offline, it's an easy way for them to make $$$ off a SEO product.

Simple though.. hit "mark as spam" bye bye!

Or maybe a previous vBSEO.com owner started a new venture?
It looks like all emails are addressed to vBSEO license owners, I got my share of spam also (32 emails).

Seems just a scam. A very primitive one.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

            According to this site- http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/we...on-web-server/

These 4 domains are hosted on the same server-
            menaprof.com
            vbfoster.com
            vbrewrite.com
            marcomamdouh.com

vbfoster is a mod on vBulletin.org here-

If you go to their website and click the purchase link you get an error that the SSL certificate is registered to vbrewrite, not vbfoster.

So it looks like it is the same people as behind vbfoster.

Hi, Don. I hope all is well down your way. My best wishes to you and yours for a safe and happy holiday season.

It seems I might hold the record for the ridiculous spam they are sending. Saturday evening, in just one, two-minute burst, I received ninety-eight (yes, that is 98) e-mails from the prat. And the address the spam was sent to is the address I had on file at vBSEO, which is one I've almost never used for any other purpose. Considering I migrated away from vB over four years ago, you can imagine my disgust with all of it.

Lynne, a Happy Thanksgiving to you, as well.

It's sad they have to pull this crap to run a business. I mean it makes me wonder if they hacked vBSEO, which is why it may have gone down earlier. And, they are mass emailing all of the customers hoping one of them desperately pays them.

                Thanks for the info.

Hopefully others see this and don't get scammed by these guys.

More likely vbseo sold their database to the highest bidder to help pay their debts.

I have not owned a VB forum or VBSEO licence since 2007 and got 11 emails from that forum owner. I've marked them as spam as well. Really not a good way for any forum owner to start a new forum. Somehow mass spam a ton of people who never opted into the email list.
