There are plenty of free, good message board software out there. vBulletin isn't one of them. If 'free' is your goal, look into phpBB, SMF, or any number of options that I can't think of off the top of my head.Comment

Well, one of the very first versions of vbulletin was free (released around 2000), but all sensors indicate noone would be cruel enough to recommend use of it to even their worst enemies. Compared to that hyperold, ultra-outdated version, pretty much all free forum apps are a far wiser option to consider, if finances are really tight.Comment
