I really like Firefox. I wish IE was better because so many members access my forum using IE, but Firefox simply wins. I like that I can do curves in FF through css as well as drop shadows. Those just will not display in IE. I also like Opera and Chrome, but my favorite is browser for everyday use is Firefox.

IE9 should support those if they are done in a manner which is supported in a finalised standard. If so then it might be worth encouraging your IE users to upgrade to IE9, or if you are using a non-standards compliant methods see if you can achieve the same thing with standards supported methods.

Prefer Chrome... Have tried Opera many time over the years and really can't see it's allure. Firefox has become bloated and has still has memory leaks with Flash.

Seems you have a good reason for that.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

Is anyone else finding this forum extremely buggy / hard to use with Internet Explorer 9? Just wondering if it's a forum side compatability issue or if my browser has some wierd settings, might see if compatability mode helps in a moment.

Nope. I've been using IE9 since it hit the first useable release on vB.com and as my daily browser. No issues. Do make sure you're not in compatablity mode.

Thanks, definitely not in compatability mode. Think it must be a security setting as it keeps prompting me that 'Only secure content is displayed' and until I choose to Show All Content a lot of functionality is slow or doesn't work altogether. This seems to happen on several forum sites, but not gMail etc. My security level has defaulted to 'medium-high', so perhaps changing that down would help but I would have thought this prompt would only appear when using a secure connection...

Actually that means something is behind https while the rest of the site isn't. Make sure you're using http and not https.
Do you require your facebook to be behind https?

Ah that would be Facebook causing it then, hadn't thought of that as Chrome had never prompted me about this in the past. Any idea why it stops the inline editing working properly (unless show content is pressed) or is it because it stops all JavaScript after Facebook's or something like that?

Anyway, thanks for the help .

Its a security feature of IE that forces content to come from the same type fo connection. Since the other code is not behind SSL and thus not encrypted for protection, you wont be as secure possibly.

Yes. Many times have to click twice. My forum is 3.8.6: same problem.

Yes, I think it's a very adequate browser. I don't know if I'd actually use it more often than Opera, but I've been trying it out for a while now and I really like how it ties into the Win7 taskbar and appears to be relatively standards compliant, certainly much better than previous versions.
