Computer Chat What is your prefered browser?

Did a search and found no recent poll on this so I'll start a new one.
What (desktop) browser do you like and why? Have you tried more than one or two or are you so convinced from your current choice that you even don't consider to test the alternatives?
My no. 1 choice since some years is Opera.
    The main reasons are:
    - tabs!
I'm this sort of web user opening several websites (at this moment 150 pages) and have them open all time. If I close the browser and open again they are still there.
    - you can save open tabs as sessions, so many as you want
    - simple and quick restoring of the last closed tabs
    - side panel where you can list all open tabs, history, favorites, downloads
    - you can customize the search bar very easy and there is no limit
    - If you right click your mouse you see all open tabs and can scroll to any of them
    - paste and go (copy a web link and use the right click option "paste and go" inside the url address bar or search bar, only one single click where all other browsers need two clicks)
    - mouse gestures, custom keyboard shortcuts
    - speed dial
    - password manager (it's even saving the vb member area pw)

There are so many useful and user friendly settings I can't list them all. I only can recommend to test this browser and if you really use it for some days and check out all options you'll never want to change again. >>Opera<<
Other browsers I've tested so far:

    Firefox

I'm a firefox gal. The first thing that had me changing was the tabs, the second was all the add-ons (I *love* firebug and also my gmail checker and LastPass, along with others). I keep Safari around as my second browser (to test things using another user) and I also have Opera and Chrome installed since some users for testing when users have problems with specific browsers. I'm a Mac person, so I haven't touched IE in years now.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      I like Chrome.

But in Chrome/Opera/Safari, you cannot do a search in the vBulletin templates (try it!)

So i always end up firing up Firefox to do template work otherwise I'd go potty.

You can definitely search in templates with opera. (try it again!)

          You can.

But then, when you have you template open, there should be a box allowing you to search within that template for the term you searched for.

If you are not in Firefox or IE - ***FAIL***

I know what you mean Mark, you have the template content in your acp opened, for example the footer template, and you want to search for "<div id="footer"". It works for me.

Not for me...the field is just not there.

Yep, you are right, Mark. It doesn't work in Safari either. You need to use the browsers search function, which is OK, but it's nice in firefox when the field is there and auto-populated and you just have to click the button.

I am in between what to use. I used Firefox for a while and now I am fed up with it. Trying out Chrome, but, it just doesn't do it for me. Something about it doesn't feel right with me. I am back to IE for now. I am going to try Firefox 4 to see if the issues I have with it are in that one too. The main problem is the memory consumption. It gets to a point where scrolling a page sticks or doesn't respond at all. I have to close it down and then stop the process. This happens pretty consistently and I can reproduce it easily. I uninstalled all addons including flash player and create a new profile and it's no help at all. I even did all the tweaks limiting memory and using disk cache. Nothing stops this monster from consuming memory.

I went from IE to Firefox to Chrome. IE sucked, Firefox was awesome but it kept getting slower and slower. A friend on another forum had a similar thread and everyone was saying try Chrome, try Chrome...so I did and I love it. It's got cool extensions like Firefox and is MUCH faster at page loads, etc. Haven't found anything I can do in Chrome yet. The only thing I miss about Firefox is the multi-row bookmarks bar. Chrome has a couple of decent bookmark extensions, but nothing is as good a 2 rows IMHO

Switched to Firefox last year and wished I'd done it before. Also have IE8, Chrome, Safari and Opera for testing purposes.

I prefer only Mozilla coz it provides a lots of ad ons for user which are so friendly. I never used any other browser since last 3 years.

IE9 is proving to be really nice, still prefer Chrome but have found IE9 very fast and responsive. Very nice standards compliance as well.
