    Have you upgraded to 4.0?

My site is still using 3.8.4... have been very pleased with it... but I am considering upgrading to 4.x.x. What are your thoughts on 4.0? Is it worth it, good? I've heard questionable reviews and just want to get as much info as I can before I make a decision.

I use a test version of VB 4 all the time to develop mods on vbulletin.org but I don't ever see myself upgrading to VB4... there are still hundreds of outstanding bugs (down from thousands) where as VB3 I think has 12 bugs that you'd likely never notice.

The point is I see nothing that VB4 does better than VB3 as a forum, which is all I need. What does the new style matter since I could have a custom style made for VB3 to make it look however I wanted anyway?

There's just no new forum features I care for... A CMS I use VB Advanced- have no use for blogs... Plus developing and customizing VB4 takes 3 times the amount of effort as VB4.

        There's no impex for VB4.

If I was starting new I'd consider VB4 but no reason to upgrade IMO. My plan to to hope VB5 offers something worth changing for.

Well, 4.0 is not that great, but 4.1.1 runs very well, at least for my needs.

It still has a few bug, but I like how you can style it better than than 3.8. I would wait until they get editor fixed before moving. Everything is working fine for me, but who knows what will happen once they change the editor. It was suppose to be added to 4.1 but it was causing many problems, so it has been delayed. How long is anyones guess. Hopefully we get it soon. Once that is out of the way I think things might move quickly from there.

Current editor is not broken, there's no real reason not to go with 4.1.1 because of editors.

They are changing editor, that is why I would wait. You are right, nothing wrong with what we have now.

Just upgraded on Saturday. Many users are pissed but that's just because they don't like change. Many like the new look. The Stylevars took some getting used to for the skinning but other than that I have to say the functionality is great. I also have vgballlery 3 which is also great and the few hacks that I had were ported over for vb4. Haven't noticed any bugs dunno what you guys are talking about.

At first look you don't see them, but they are there.

Is there any noticeable speed difference from 3.8.x to 4.x.x

                            Yes, 3.8 is faster.
