Been sued lately? Has Righthaven changed your forum Policies?

Righthaven's business practice of sue first, skip the DCMA takedown notice tactic, has caused turmoil across the net.

Turns out, Righthaven also has ties with Obama. Is the open discussion forum under attack?

The conspiracy website, GLP, who recently came under legal attack, thinks so.

Regardless of the political angle, having to defend yourself from a lawsuit becomes expensive.

What are you doing to change your policies?

And I'll bet you can connect him to Kevin Bacon, too.

I think we should all invest in DMCA Safe Harbour protection.

The title threw me off. I thought the people behind the revived UBB started suing webmasters for food. Hey you never know, its no longer a no-no in this webmaster servicing niche.

Could someone post a few of Right Havens articles for me to read, so I have a clearer understanding what the issue is?

The only thing I do is comply when I receive a take down notice and try educate my users that copying entire webpages and pasting them as threads isn't the idea.

You won't get a takedown notice, you'll get a letter from a lawyer or a court.

I'm not talking about a hypothetical situation with rightshaven I'm talking about the reality of what I do. I'm pretty sure that rightshaven are going to target us based sites first as the likelihood of me attending a court hearing in the states are up there with Julian Assange arriving over there voluntarily for his espionage trial.
