Way Off-Topic I need another "forum package"

    Hi,
After upgrading to 4.0.5 more bugs today, been this way since late last December.
So can someone please recommended another "forum package", I am just running out of time, I need to have my site up and running by this December.

Background: I am developing a photography forum (yes another one) so I need a forum with a picture gallery.

    Thank you in advance.

I don't think that you will have many recommendations for another "forum package" here.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

Its looks like I will be taking my business(my money) else where then.
I can't be the member with the same problems or am I?

They already have your money presumably. You should check out vbulletin.org for album mods.

Yes, about £200 but will I renew to vb5, no,
So they have lost a customer,
Should the software not be 100% "fit for purpose"?
I have already started looking into other forum software, find a matrix thing.

Invision Power Board seems to taking the lead at the moment, they are worth a serious look if you are looking at alternatives. They have a gallery of their own but Photopost integrates with it as well.

Wordpress seems to have a few gallery mods and an up and coming, if not entirely there yet, forum package too. That might also be worth checking out.

                IP.Gallery is a great addon for IP.Board

I have not done ANY customising YET but i plan to soon. the forums will even display recent gallery images if you want it to. oh and IPB does NOT charge VAT.

I am NOT trying to steal you away from vB or wordpress just letting you know from MY experiences IPB is really good.

Did you import anything into your gallery from a vbulletin photo gallery(IE: vbGallery, photo plog, etc)?

How easy was it to import into gallery? Did you write a converter for it?

I converted to the galley from Photopost and vbGallery. No problems and the import script and url redirect scripts are in the converter zip.

So there is an importer from vBGallery to IPB correct ?

Is there also an importer from specific forum section ( gars powered ) to Ip Nexus or content management system ?

Hmmm. I loked at the IPB converters 4-6 weeks ago and all I saw was something for Photopost pro and nothing for vbGallery. Did you use one converter for both galleries or two separate converters? TIA.
