Use Sam Spade to find out who to send abuse reports to.

      Alternately you can try SpamCop:

Beware of cheap imitations! SpamCop has been protecting the internet community since 1998. Automatically file spam reports with the network administrators who can stop unsolicited email at the source. Subscribe, and filter your email before it reaches your inbox.

          Huh?

It's just a service that analyzes the headers of spam email and will send abuse complaints for you. How does that equate to 'internet police'?

Sorry but this is just nonsense:

Your using Sam Spade to do what exactly? Get Ip's of Dial ups? That won't help you much:

The only way to help is to go to somewhere like http://www.spamhaus.org and try and get entire networks blocked.

FYI if you think 800 emails is bad we once got hit with 179k of identical emails in an attack.

Huh? I was just making a suggestion. I'm not quite sure where this antagonism came from.

If you use the Sam Spade download program you can do quite a lot actually, including:
                • Ping
                • nslookup
                • Whois
                • IP block
                • Dig
                • Traceroute (fast and slow)
                • Finger
                • SMTP verify
                • Time
                • Blacklist
                • Abuse lookup
                • Parse email headers
Frankly it's a pretty handy little tool!

You got that too Fred? That must have been some stupid spammer, fscking up his spam program.

As for spamcop I already know about them. I was just trying to go to their website to see exactly what it is they're trying to hide in their html code. It's all cloaked.

From my experience, submitting reports to spamcop often will be futile because the spammers are smart enough to use stolen dialup accounts, relay through badly configured mail servers, use free homepage providers to thwart complaints, etc...

So the real way to get at them is to manually visit their site and follow it till you find the real destination. Get that terminated and they won't be getting their form submission data.
                    Well, there it is.

I've received the very same email. Only one though. Spam is getting worse on the net. Yesturday I was litteraly bombarded with REAL mail from Sanibel Island. I kid you not there must have been 20 envelopes from the region. I asked my good friend Kathleen if she by any chance had been browsing the web for a vacation spot. She had. Whatever pages she visited grabbed ahold of my hard drive and whammo, instant un-needed responses. Just for browsing the pages. I won't visit any of those resorts now when I go on vacation. Period. One of them actually had the nerve of sending real pictures of the condo and beach with a return request for the pictures attatched to it. That is just plain nuts. I'm not sure how they got the information needed for this but was assured that no personal information was given out.
