how much the vb.com domain costs?

just wonder how much the 2 letter vb.com domain name would cost? I know a little about domain business so I know that there are NO 3 letter.com (including numbers) are available.

Why don't vbulletin.com tries to ask vb.com's owner to see how much it would cost? I guess it could go at least $20,000.

2 letter domain names are reserved afaik. Not just anyone can register them. Im not sure what the requirements are, but I tried to register at.co.uk a few years ago and it was declined, even though it was available at the time.

Companies like www.bt.com are major corporations and they have to apply for them.

Two letter domains are reserved in the .co.uk namespace so they don't conflict with country codes or something of that nature.

However .co.uk is absolutely nothing to do with .com which has no such restriction.]

"Why don't vbulletin.com tries to ask vb.com's owner to see how much it would cost? I guess it could go at least $20,000."

I would guess more like US$200,000. Any more guesses?

I'm sure if Jelsoft would trademake vB, they would have claim to get the domain, and not pay 200,000 for it

            why? vbulletin.com is perfectly fine

maybe US$200k would be better spent getting a sybase or oracle license for developing other vB backends

Didn't the BBC pay around £750,000 ago for the bbc.co.uk domain from some computing firm ?

I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't gone after VB.COM, (for Visual Basic) or if they have, its a good sign we wouldn't be able to get it either...

Actually thats very true, perhaps the company that owns it is setting a very high price for the domain

Nope, I don't think so, 2 letters domains are not reserved, it just happens that people got them early. 1 letter domains, however, got reversed. If you check a.com or b.com, you'll see it says ICANN or something. And I guess paypal did pay a lots to get x.com.

I was stay up the whole night trying to get pc.net few months ago, through the domain service that notify me the domain would be release that night. But the was Korean guy who got it faster than me few seconds, so I missed that . That means 2 letters domains are not reserved.

I remember a while ago, computer.com was listed on sale for $500K. And you might have already known, loan.com was for 3 million, also the highest sale record in Guiness book 2000 is business.com went for 7 million. And Christmas.com refused the offer of 5 million dollars a while ago. They also mentioned the America.com is on auction for 42 millions .

Call them crazy, but $200K is nothing compare to those.
