stats from one of the bigest boards i belong to and they just did a mass prune of members and some older posts.

Heh, think about real big boards... not the size of vB.com/org, but those with 10m+ posts...

More related to older hardware and network problems communicating with slave database servers than the burden of the software.

Actually, we have been having them for months. Even before beta was put on these servers.

Guess I was always lucky. Didn't have any problems until the switch to 4.0.

as much as i hate to agree even in the slightest with Gladius i too noticed how much worse it got after the switch to vB4.


i do not mean the server is slower just that the slow downs are more frequent and last longer.


why not upgrade the servers if they are all that old ?

I am pretty sure I read that they are evaluating the issue right now and trying to decide what they want to do regarding the servers.
