Then, I recommend also checking out Nightwish, Within Temptation, Sirenia, Krypteria, Beautiful Sin and other Epica songs. All of these bands are very similar in style, but very different in actual delivery.

I'm not usually keen on 'harsh' guitars.. so generally don't get much into that genre, but I do remember a tune once with a skippy beat (bout 10 years ago now!) and I really liked it, wish I could find it.

Not heavy on the guitar, a very soft and soothing ballad.

I'd search for more videos, but unfortunately I haven't got the time right now, but here's a list of songs I would recommend you give a listen.

Within Temptation

• Pretty much any song from them. They are -extremely- melodic and hardly ever really pound your ears out. Haven't found a song I didn't like from them, personally.

If you can't tell, I'm very much into combing Orchestra's, Choirs, and Female Vocalists with metal influenced guitars.

Just listened to and justice for all (metallica) for the first time in a long time while mowing the yard. Man, forgot how good the older stuff was. And anything Foo Fighters for the most part. Also really got into Buckcherry the last year, love Lit Up.
