    Yes, it's normal. It should say right on the page that the invites aren't sent instantly. They include some sort of comical excuse such as "we have a lot of stamps to lick" or something...

      Question. Just got an invitation from Google to use Wave. I have 20 invites to send out. I have sent 5 so far to friends with gmail accounts. They have yet to receive anything. Is this normal?
