In my opinion, the image is a little bit to big.

Nice change for an almost 7 year old home page.

The headliner area is, as some has already noted, is too big that it occupies the whole viewport on 1280 x 800 resolution leaving all important information below the fold. There's already wasted whitespace in the header, and the cyan blue on the headliner is quite hurting to the eye when you glaze at it for few seconds.

The vB hero image gives the impression that vBulletin is an energy drink!
You're spending millions of dollars on a website?!

But why does the new forum design look so much like Invision Board ? Strange, in the old days Invision copied vBulletin, now it's the other way around, I do like the CMS though, looks great.

What are you talking about? It's a completely different layout.

Being a designer myself, I think what you are referring to is web 2 design style. This has nothing to do with copying competition, it's just a very popular way of designing a website atm. The way they have done it here is really nice IMO, no heavy gradients, just seas of whitespace. Love it

<- never before, a simple icon was the best way to express my feelings.
                    That's the end of that!
