      2.2.0

i think that i'd be more interested in seeing a changelog than a release right now... i wanna know what hacks i'm gonna have to redo...

ahh... i like the rating @ the bottom of the post... people might start to use it

These are the current hacks that will not be hacks with the new version. I may have missed some, and these are definately not the only new features, but you won't have to re-hack this when you upgrade

        MD5 Password Encryption
EZBoard-like "mark as read" and "mark forum as read"

            I know all

Actually, just by reading various posts. In reply to one of my threads saying how much I liked the new version, I think either Kier or Firefly mentioned MD5 encryption. Showmods is on the main page, and well, you can see the "mark this forum read" when you browse a forum

What you could've done though, is go to the lost password form and note how it doesn't send you your password, but makes a new one. This is because of the MD5 encryption

Yes, 2.2.0 has a few features I could use BUT more importantly, I wan't the developers to take their time with the release. A month or two is fine. I have seen disasterous results when stuff is "prematurely" released or to much pressure is applied. Just deal with it

On the other hand, something to think about is to release a Public Beta Version and let the "must have yesterday" folks pound away. Natch the documents and such should describe what Beta means with lots of CYA stuff. This Beta would be open to folks who are not part of the development team and could perhaps contain 50 or so folks with clearly defined procedures on how to log bugs/glitches etc. What say you geeks ?
              Have a great day :)

OH MY GOD... steve, you shouldn't be allowed to participate in a 'lively upgrade' descusion. You must be the most cautious man in the world, it took you over a year to change from ubb to vB.. oh my lord!

Go away, stop giving the dev team ideas you evil little man, bah!

We thought about doing a public beta for 2.2.0, but we decided that we're confident enough in the solidity of this code to go straight for a release

                            Hint: look at forum jump.

                            Also, is vbulletin.com/forum/online.php new?

                            Multi-choice polls too.

And I also think the code has had a major makeover considering Mars and Jupiter coming up, 1 developer (i forget who) saying that this has layed(sp) down the framework for something, and Kier saying something about the upgrades needing a re-write.

                              Online.php was in 2.0.3.

The forumjump has been there for a while...
