    Free Windows 7

    I got a free copy of Office 2007 with a legitimate offer from Microsoft when it came out.
    Now they're giving away a chance for free Windows 7.

    Those sites are always risky to me. Never used them, never will

      It is sponsored by Microsoft, I just got an email from them about it. Why would it be risky?

        That's what I thought before I got my copy of Office 2007 - I passed on Vista, not sure why I didn't get that too.

        The only risk I see is getting more spam.

          Here you are:

          1. They ask for your E-Mail address = Possible Spamming = VERY anoying.

          2. They ask for an address, Mail spam and unwanted letters.

          3. They ask for phone number's, again advertising text messages or unwanted calls.

          Not say it will ALWAYS happen, but its always a risk.

            Sometimes, just sometimes... something on the internet is actually real.

                Yeah.. Microsoft has a contest like this for every major release of their software. That has been stated in this thread already.

                  It may have been stated, but there are offers plastered all over the internet for "Free iPod!", "Free PC!", etcetera. Not realizing that the event was indeed sponsored by Microsoft is understandable.

                  {Me? In my case I will just get Win7 from MSDN like most of my fellow Code Monkey geeks. }

                      I've got a copy running in a VM at the office for testing but for the house I just haven't felt like it yet to set aside a night to do the upgrade. Most likely I'll throw it on the laptop one of these (supposedly Win7 is more laptop friendly then Vista was) before upgrading the desktops.

                              As an apolagy for that (censered) awful Vista bag of (censered) which a total waste of (censered) space .

                              W98 worked better then that pile of poo-poo .

                              I removed Vista from my laptop ASAP and replaced it with XP pro. I mean it actualy works!
