Buy vB License off eBay or not....

    Now read this bit:

    This auction includes:
    1. One owned vBulletin license - no expiration
    2. One year of official support and updates - same as if you were to buy it direct

    Hmm, no expiration? ok pricing:

    US $70.00 + US $60.00 (P+P)

    What am I missing here?

I don't understand why he is charging for the shipping, saying he will use that money to add another 1yrs support to it so you can update to the lastest version. Why not just sell it and leave it up-to the buyer to update it later himself.

Also, $50 (£25) for a vBulletin owned licence that needs to be updated again to get the latest version is not really that cheap, but not too bad either I suppose. But if it's a very old licence, (which is sounds like) it is, you might only have access to the old vB3.0 series using it until you re-new it. I sold a vB Owned licence a few years ago for £40, complete with 9 months support still left on it. So I'm comparing to that.

        That's dodgey
Sounds pretty legit to me, and does sound quite reasonable.

@ct2k7 - How many licences are you after at all? Do you not think your being a bit greedy!

I would contact the auctioner to ask him or her if it's okay to only pay for the software and not the $60.00 for the updates.

Can't transfer the license unless it is has active updates. This means he probably needs to renew it before the license can be transferred.

That said, licenses sold on eBay are fraudulent more often than not. Anyone considering such a purchase should verify the license with Jelsoft before spending any money. We don't guarantee third-party sales so you could be buying a lot of hot air.

I wasn't aware of that, that's most likely why his ad reads that way then

I thought your number of licenses was diminishing? oh, I've just bought another license.

I wouldn't even consider it unless you can get the license number and verify it with us first.

Please note that when you get a license from an unofficial source, you assume all risks, including the possibility that this license could be phony or charged back and revoked. You should read this article:

                            Na,

                            Sounds extremely dodgy to me.

Unless you buy it from Jelsoft direct, you are ALWAYS at a high risk of being scammed with vBulletin licenses.

Well how can you be greedy? The inventory of licenses is limitless . If I really wanted, I could buy 500 licenses.... (someone pop my bubble please)
