I think the technique is called long exposure? I am by no means an expert, but I think they take something away from these otherwise beautiful photographs The city itself looks beautiful in your pictures, but I think you should have stuck to just taking a standard shot.

the technique is called HDR. (see link above) its 3 photos combined into 1.

          1) proper exposure
          2) over exposed
          3) under exposed

googleing HDR (High Dynamic Range), will give you a wealth of information. its certainly not for everyone, so I understand what you are saying. here are many others that are not HDR..

Are you using Photoshop to make the HDR images, or something else?
I know Photoshop can do it and there are other popular programs like Photomatix, etc, just wondering what you use

Terrific! Don't forget to update us with the other ones when they're finished.

Just a small question, are these panoramic shots hard to produce, both in production & processing?

not really. you just need to line up the photos as you shoot them. its takes a little practice, but not really that hard. the software I use, pano maker pro, does most of the work when stitching them together.

I see. So it's a fine motor skill rather than technical or photographic expertise? I guess using a tripod would make producing them easier.
