Sneezing when going from dim/dark to bright light

Who here sneezes when they go from a dimly lit or dark area out into the sunlight?

I sneeze twice when going into the sunlight.

Could have sworn you posted this thread before...

Maybe on a different site we both visit.

I don't think he has Wayne, last one was about getting 'shocked' ?

Harmor - your eyes, nose and ears are all connected, so while it sounds odd there 'could' be a connection. Might be hay fever tho?

        No fever.
I'm not really interested in the answer as I have searched the web and read that the eyes and nose are connected and other answers that I won't type due to my laziness.

My nose tingles and often makes my eyes water when I get the sun in my eyes unexpectedly.

            That's not the same thing.
I walk outside looking at the ground and I still sneeze.

Maybe if you get bitten by a lycan you won't sneeze in the sunlight.

                I got the same.
When going out, when the sun shines, I have to sneeze at least ones, preferably twice.
However, that's it. No sneezing afterward. I think it's really nice. I luv sneezing if it's not because of fever or any other illness. So relieving. Like an orgasm, I'd say.

No, but I have a sneezing fit when I get hit on a certain part of my nose.

Doesn't have to be a hard hit either, can be a soft but firm bop on my nose and I sneeze for hours.

It's called the Photic sneeze reflex.

There are some theories about it but this one I like best:

The nerves that are responsible for the eye closing and the nerves that trigger the sneezing are close to each other.
A bright light sends a strong signal through the eye closing nerve and that also stimulates the 'sneezing nerve'.

I'm not a doctor but that's what I learned at school and yes, I'm affected too.
                    That's the end of that!

I never had this happen to me, and thought it was an odd thing to happen when I read this thread. Of course, a couple of days later after being inside all weekend, I opened the door around sunset (sun hits the front door directly)... and after a second of temporary blindness, I sneezed and then laughed remembering this thread.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.
