I guess NVU is not being updated any longer, but this is the new open source continuation of the project.

What is the point paying for an IDE? I tried out PHP Designer and you can go to the toolbar and insert various statements. For example you can click on 'Class" and it'll insert class {}. I can type that quicker than going to the toolbar selecting "PHP --> Class". In my opinion paying for an IDE is dumb.
I use Crimson Editor by the way.Comment

I especially like it's built-in support for TortoiseSVN and phpDoc, though. One click and my classes and methods automatically have phpDoc comments attached to them.Comment
