Way Off-Topic How do you pronounce "SQL"?

This is a weird question but I like to see if anyone else pronounces "SQL" as "Sequel" like I do or say each letter.

So do you pronounce it "Sequel" or just say S Q L?

I've always been pronouncing it as S Q L (es Que el).

    Maybe i'm wrong?

I don't see it as a word either, I always say it like you do too, despite knowing better.

Depends, for SQL I just say S Q L, but when it's MySQL I for some reason revert to My Sequel

I'd imagine since SQL is acronym it should be pronounced as individual letters?

In many Microsoft Events and webinars, it has been pronounced as seeqwel. I prefer this pronunciation, but I originally thought it was S Q L Structured Query Language

I've always heard it referred to my sequel or sequel.
Just as no one spells out RADAR, also an acronym.

S Q L, since it doesn't actually form a word (Like NASA, FEMA, and other do). Same as I don't call PHP Pehip, or HTML Hatmil, and so on. lol SQL is an abbreviation and should be pronounced as such.

I heard it pronounced one of two ways: Sequel, or Squirrel. I choose the latter as it was the first one I heard.

                    As SQL means Structured Query Language, I say S Q L (3 separate letters). And My S Q L.

It's an acronym, I say it as it's meant to be: Ess Queue Ell.

                            Acronyms are abbreviations.

Anyway, I pronounce it "S.Q.L.," saying each letter individually.

I pronounce it as individual letters, since it's an abbreviation and the abbreviated letters do not form a word.

I also pronounce PHP with it's individual letters.

And SQLite becomes S Q L Lite, even though there is only one L.

The one I'm really confused on, though, is PostgreSQL. Luckily it has never come up in conversation where I actually had to say it out loud.
