    Computer Chat Computer Specs?

Just curious. What type of computer do you have?

    Me?

    I have:

Dell--It's soo old, it probably doesn't have a brand.
    384 MB of RAM
    Pentium III Processor
    996 MHz
Windows XP Professional: Service Pack 3.

My computer is old. Antique Roadshow old. Here is what I'm getting, I guess.

    2 GB of RAM
    Pentium 4 Processor
    160 GB Hard Drive
    2.4 Ghz
Windows XP Professional: Service Pack 3.

And for those who have NO clue on how to find their specs:

    Start>Control Panel>System

I even attached a link to a screen shot of how to do it. How nice of me.

EDIT: FYI. I am running XP. I just skinned my computer to look like Vista. I like how it looks. Just not how it runs.

Can somebody help? I need Floris' address, a large sports bag/suitcase/swag bag, a dark outfit, and a balaclava.

My computer will celebrate it's 6th birthday in a couple of months:

It shows as 1.60 Ghz pentiom 4 processor, 504mb of Ram, 2 hard disks on 40gb one 20gb, some crappy sound card, crappy graphics card that's built on to the motherborad. To think it was top of the range when I first got it.

It can't handle my multi tasking very well.

My laptop has 1 GB RAM Windows XP SP 3 and I don't know the processor and can't be bothered to look.

Desktop 3 GB RAM Windows Vista, Intel Pentium Dual Processor 2.20 GHZ, it says 32 bit operating system or processing system, no idea what that means.

Well, according to the Intel site, it appears your CPU is 64 bit, but more than likely your OS is 32 bit. Since it's only 32 bit, you're pretty much limited to around 3GB of RAM.
As it is, I thought I had read that some versions of Vista limited how much RAM they would let you use. So if you did actually have a 64bit version of Vista installed, you'd need to upgrade to a more expensive version in order to fully use all of your RAM. If I'm wrong, let me know, as I don't run Vista.

I can't say that you're wrong, because I don't know what the deal is with it at all. However I chose Vista Basic and not Premium or whatever the other options are, as Basic uses the least amount of RAM as per what the Computer Sales Rep told me.

It's not the size of your PC, but how you use it.
