Computer Chat Whats the best Video Game ever (in your opinion)?

I have just been having a disagreement with a few of the lads from work, in what is the best video game of all time! (I know Sad)
Now I know this is very hard to do, as there are so many different genres, for example how can you compare a shooter to a platform?
But forget about that just please reply what you think is the best game you have ever played!

In my opinion, the best video game I have ever played is:

Rastan is probably my favorite game of all time. Platform/Adventure arcade game for the Neo Geo or something, I like the Arcade version and use the Raine emulator to play it.

If I had to pick just one game, I'd go with Mario Bros. as it spawned an entire generation of gamers.

My favorite game ever though would be Shadow of the Colossus.

Followed by BioShock, Ico, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Final Fantasy VI

In terms of longetivity, the best computer video game would have to be Oregon Trail. It was first conceived in 1971 and released in 1975. In the 80's it was a staple on many school-owned Apple II series computers. I remember playing it for the first time in 1982 during the sixth grade. That was the year that my school spent $30,000 to buy 3 Apple II computers and a printer. It was available for most platforms over the years. The last version was released in 2001, as far as I can tell, but the game is still going strong and still used in many schools in introductory computer courses as low as the first grade.

The most played video game of all time would be Pacman and all of its variations. Again this game has withstood the ages and still continues to be played today even though the concept is more than 20 years old. There is probably someone out there working on a new and improved Pacman as it gets a new rendition every couple of years.

Of all the games that I have played, my favorites have to be (in order):

Starcraft and its Broodwar expansion
The Command And Conquer Series, except Renegade
Final Fantasy 3, 7 and 9

But my all time favourite game has to be: GTA Vice City on PS2. I love everything about this game, and spent so much time playing it a few years ago. I love the music, the atmosphere, the characters, the storyline. I was truly immersed in it

My favourites would have to be final fantasy series. 7 and 9 in particular. I have never played the ones before 7 and havent really played the ones after 10 much.

Counter strike is also an excellent game that many played for years including myself.

IMHO the best video game of all time is Super Mario Brothers.
Why you ask?
Because who has not played it? Who can't stop for a minute and hum the theme song? How many other games have had this impact?
