avast! antivirus blocks my internet connection?

I recently installed avast! antivirus, and it completely blocked my internet connection. So I had to uninstall it.

    Any ideas? Thanks...

I use Avast on 3 machines here and have never seen behaviour like that.

What were you running before you tried Avast? Are you sure it was totally removed?

Were there any notices in the log viewer?

I would try a fresh install and then contact the support team at Avast if you have any issues.

I have never had this problem with avast!. It's been simply the best anti-virus program I have every installed.
