Hit hard by some nasty spyware, need help

Tried spybot, but it keeps coming back. Every 10 clicks or so in Explorer or Firefox I get a freakin popup or new browser window open. It's horrible.

Any good programs out there to kill this stuff? Also, tried windows defender, didn't work.

backup your personal files, reformat your hard drive and re-install your os. Why waste time.

I removed Norton antivirus and installed AVG and that solved the problem. Apparently the spyware I got corrupted my Norton.

Spyboy alone will not take care of this problem
get CCleaner run it first.
Get the Norton Removal tool. Run it.
Go to Safe Mode
Download Ad-Aware from lavasoft. Great tool.
Get Spy Sweeper with Antivirus. Use it, and set it up for weekly scans.

buy a mac or put linux distro on there.
