The thing I completely do not understand here, is where does it say in Buddhism that they are to find new followers? I thought it was all about personal enlightenment and peace. So why is she wasting her time is my question?

Either a) this person doesn't know enough about their own religion or b) they're causing grief just for the hell of it, perhaps even testing developmental software for future use.

EDIT: that is, I don't think it's a bot that registers. Once in, there has to be a script for the mass PMs.

No, don't agree friend. On her second tour of duty on our forums we were alert enough to see the inception on the PM'ing, and a couple of my mods and myself were watching as he/she started posting individual PM's taking about 40 seconds per PM.
Just to make sure we had the right cracker we waited until five had been completed before banning the account and IP etc.

I might change my copyright text to an image; I'm guessing they are searching for copyright text.

Only way to deal with this without installing a MOD, is to create a usergroups for new members that can´t send private messages.

Everyone keeps talking about PM spamming but i have these same spammers as well as a few other names posting tons of messeges on my main forum...but no PMs....this is especially annoying for members of my forum who receive emails of each post...

Can anything be done to block them from posting at all?
