What exactly are they trying to do?

            Get people to become Buddhist?

Also, can you share the link here? I'm obviously not a staff member, but I can't see the harm in sharing a link for informational purposes as long as the site doesn't contain nudity, runs an illegal version of vB, etc.

One identifiable characteristic is the age they use to sign up. The age is usually in the 60's.

I have a user by this name on my sites, she is a wonderful person and not a spammer.

So just because it's a common name.. make sure you don't ban a real person!

Erm, the behaviour of the miscreant is rather obvious and doesn't leave any doubt as to the validity of any ban.

"She" was on my forum, but it requires her to select a gender and she picked "male". That obviously raised a red flag since I manually validate all users.

it was a general notice .. so people would double check before just banning or deleting users.

Now I just got this user on my site, but under the username James (207.195.249.48 / [email protected]).

                            I've promptly banned him.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.

Yeah, that´s why I did some changes, so that new registrations can not send PMs.

I had the same problem with "Jeannette" a couple days ago.

The One-touch Spam Ban and Cleanup plugin got rid of the users and all of the PMs quickly though.
