                    A "sub" is what some of the franchised food places call a hoagie; local mom & pop shops use the real name. Then there is the flip-side... a place calling any sandwich on a long roll a "hoagie", sometimes even with... mayo! Blah! (Yes, I was born & raised in the Philly area.)

                    Regional foods always fascinate me. I remember last year a gentlemen from California was in town during our 4th of July festival and was amazed at the vendors selling ice cream on a waffle.

                              Hey hey, there's Jim's on South Street too. And of course all the places only 3 people have heard of.

                              Of the major ones, my friends and I tend to go for Pat's. I make a point to venture into Philly at some point when I'm visiting, which is about twice per year.
