Ad Placement

I am putting ads on my forums and I dont want them to be too innundated with ads, but I need the revenue. I have been to scam.com and I think it is way too busy with ads (ok you get used to it but still)

I have a google graphic banner ad at the upper right of the forums. I plan on putting adsense code after the first and last posts of each thread. That will take my three ads per page from google.

Where do the rest of you find that you get good results? Skyscraper? Footer banners? Banners between Topics?

Since my site is WAY more important than ad revenue, I keep my header free for my site logo. I use a small ad in the navbar and then an ad in the footer and one in forum home after the forums. The navbar ad seems to do pretty good.

The positions you already said are good, but, i'd take the banner from the upper right of the forums and put it in the middle, beneath the header. Also a skyscraper at either side of the forum work very well.
