When we switched the computers in the house to LCDs to save energy and costs for the long term, we donated all of our CRTs to the local domestic violence shelter. They integrated them into systems that they give people when they settle them into a new apartment or house.

Now it simply doesn't make sense to purchase a new CRT.

The resolution is just fine. With 1080p, its very crisp. 1920x1080 is more than optimal for anything on a PC. I personally would rather have one monitor instead of two or three separate monitors.

Since yesterday: 22'' widescreen Samsung 2232BW.

I can't tell if I'm happy with it or not because I also built a new PC for my dad and the new setup is only running for about 2 hours now (installing XP Pro).
          That's the end of that!

I only have a simple 17" Dell monitor =(. I want to get a huge one soon though, like, a cinema screen to make my eyes go square haha. Damn, some of you have some amazing monitors already in here though, i'm very jealous!

Currently using 15" monitor, I hope I can get a monitor like Floris' (the one on the left):

I need a monitor like that, it sucks to program on a screen like mine, not enough room.

Either that, or dual 22" Widescreens, code on one side, browser on the other.

Oh, I thought it's a new cool layout then.

I agree, a 4:3 that can be rotated is pretty cool. A widescreen monitor is too wide (though I do use it that way to read pdf files and ebooks 100%). The silver look on the monitor matches the powerbook very well - worked out great.

I am hoping at one point this year to upgrade my monitors to 24 inch ones. I will then probably trade or sell my 19 and 20" ones.

I really wonder how sites that use liquid layouts show up on such wide widescreen monitors? A paragraph occupying several lines on a 1024x768 resolution would become a one-liner paragraph on a 2560x1600 resolution, or bigger ones! Doesn't that break some layouts?

I have a 19" standard square LCD, an LG 1933TR that's almost a year old. Even though this was one of the more expensive square LCDs at it's size at the time (~$240), mostly because it wasn't widescreen, I really like it. I honestly can't stand wide screens below a certain size. The color is good, the brightness I've gotten used to, and haven't had any problems at all so far. Came with a 3 year warranty too

I'd like to upgrade at some point in the future (probably when I buy a new computer), but being a college student, I never have much money lying around. When I graduate and get a real job though, all bets are off.

Honestly, I think my dream setup would one of the new Dell 3008WFP's. Great viewing angles, great size, decent response time, and they're huge! Not too sure how doing my web surfing on something that big would be though, especially at a $2000 price tag. Maybe something like a pair of 24" screens would be a better fit.
