The problem we have in this country is they didn't invest in the correct infrastructure during the broadband boom. Sweden and Finland are littered with fibre-optic cable as they did things the right way, we're stuck with crappy speeds, restrictions imposed upon everyone us as a consequence of half the population engaging in (illegal) p2p/torrenting activity, and it's not going to change much sooner. Recently Virgin media, the UKs #1 cable internet supplier offered a 20mbit package, with only 768 Kbps up. And we're meant to be one of the richest and advanced nations in the world...

Have to remember that US price is without taxes and Dell dosen't ship to many states now that don't charge some sort of tax.

I have ordered monitors before in the US and then taken them home in luggage; of course it's a risk that they break in transit but I have always been lucky (and you, em, should declare them at customs)

Where I live in California, the sales tax would come to $38.70. Other places have lower sales tax and some states don't have sales tax at all.

now try calculating the price difference on any system (Dell or Mac) between US and Norway, for example. really, all whining should seize because if anyone should have the right to be upset, it's us Norwegians.
