    Backing Up

Right as of late i've always backed up in phpMyAdmin, because I don't have SSH/Telnet access.

Reading the vB manual, it says to:

In the second area, called SQL Options, make sure you have the following boxes checked:

    Structure
    Add 'drop table'
    Add AUTO_INCREMENT value
Enclose table and field names with backquotes
    Data
    Which you can read here

I've always just selected the tables, then saved it like that.

So not adding 'drop table' what difference does it make?

The 'drop table' makes it so that if you imported your backup, it would drop (delete) the tables if they exist.
Else if you imported your backup and the tables existed, it would give you an error and you would have to manually drop the tables before being able to import your backup.
