if you had $50,000 or more...

if you had $50,000 or more to invest in a completely new site, with the main goal being getting good profit ($10,000 monthly or more) after a certain period of time, what would that site be about?

I'm not looking for ideas, I'm just trying to analyze the current trends and niches in english-speaking part of the web (for a presentation at work).

Same here. Maybe a combination of both.

For some reason, I've always thought online gambling is just another form of scamming that nobody take seriously! Is it that profitable?
You're spending millions of dollars on a website?!

Depends what way you look at it really. I do see all gambling as a scam, on a moral level, but legally, there's nothing wrong with it providing you follow the law. However it's legal and as long as it continues to be legal, I'd be happy to exploit weak-minded (stupid) people for my own (financial) gain

The great thing about the gambling business is that you have some very clever computer scientists developing their systems, and they're getting better and better at beating the punter. It's such a lucrative business, it's stupid.

If it's poker then the service just randomizes the cards and accepts entry fee's, no scamming involved there really.

With 50k I could hire a team and do some marketing and monetizing on wetalk.tv web site that we recently started. To boost word of mouth and generate traffic and whatnot, while hiring a good setup of staff members and editors to help manage the site. So we can turn that 50k for a site into 500k profit.

If it was that easy wouldn't everybody be doing it?

Anyways, you could probably get TV adverts for 50k.

with an extra 50k i would make me up some more parts to sell to people. Well for 50k that would only get me 1 more item. Figuring the last part i had made up cost me 42k once i bought the blanks.
