Let everyone use the new blog? Or perhaps make it a privilege?

I am wondering if its wise to let everyone blog to begin with?

What if a lot of stuff not allowed in the forum (pushy sales stuff, lewd images or profane language etc..) starts to occur, out of site, in the blogs?

Who wants to be moderating 4,000 peoples online diaries.....

Is everyone with the new blog add on - just going to "let er rip"?

On a totally positive side I am looking forward to some 'blog stars' developing on the forum I run and the investment the bloggers make into blogging, making the forum more 'sticky' / popular..

Any thoughts?

Well, first of all, the blog isn't gonna come free with the license.. It's a seperate purchase... If you don't like it, then don't buy it...

You could moderate blog postings of your users to see ahead of the things you are afraid that will happen... Probably, in later versions of the blog, it will be more advanced, secure, etc...

Oh I bought it already.. and its installed.

I was just looking for forum strategy 'chit chat' on how other people view the blog and wonder if some will restrict access to it to certain user groups.
