If I recall correctly I believe Kier has said there are communities that want to upgrade but can't for a variety of reasons out of their control.

Yeah. I remember Kier recommending vb 2.x for large communities of companies.

Yeah the datastore setup of vb3 is not feasible for some sites with a large number of forums.

Upgrading is not a day to day task. Major upgrades are usually planned & scheduled semi-annually or anually, but here it has been almost 4 years.

What about dedication towards users? Don't they deserve better forum features & experiences?

Yet, OffTopic forums is running vB 3.6.7! And total number of its sub-forums outnumbers Winamp's by several multiples.
You're spending millions of dollars on a website?!

I really find out interesting 78 Milions posts - but if you sum right column there are "only" few milion posts.

                Is there really 78 M?

Really, it is the webmaster's and company's decision to upgrade or not. Even vBulletin 2.X has more features than most forums out there and many end-users do not care about the latest whizbang features available as long as the site works.

Not to mention there are only few Viewings of forums, what are other 1600 "currently on-line" members doing?

Wow, this thread got going quick. So have we come to any conclusions as to why they use it? How has the template design/mechanics changed from 2.x up until now?

Why do you think they're faking their stats? It's popular & one of the most HUGE vBulletins. 78 million posts are spread across forums & sub-forums. They may have other private forums that are not shown to guests.
