well, the title explains it all I guess...

I have been a user only since version 3.5.4, so I have no experience with versions before that. So i wonder how they looked, what the functions were, etc.

All past vBulletin versions down to 2.3.5 are still available for download in the Members' Area. You can download any version & install it locally if you want to experiment with it.
You're spending millions of dollars on a website?!

I guess that means I can't run 1.x then. I'm actually wishing I could install it, just to see what it was like.

I think vBulletin 1 won't be impressive at the moment for anyone who knows PHP since it was written 7 years ago.

for obvious reasons, i do not want to install 15 slightly different versions just to see how they look...

to satisfy my curiosity it would be enough if there would be a screenshot (or a few) of like every major release since 1.0.

but i guess it doesn't exist yet?

PS simsim; ofcourse version 1.0 will look like nothing compared to what we have today. that is why the comparison would be interesting

It may be a good idea to have a look in the archives, see if someone has attached a screenshot in there:

If you're only talking about how vBulletin 1.0 was looking, check out the Retro style:

I have a batch of versions installed, I will see what I can do to make a small gallery from this next week.

Isn't there a 1.x theme on the vB forums?
                      vBulletin 5.0 coming soon...
