That's true but FF doesn't freeze up when I'm using ConvertXtoDVD though.

Hmm, How strange, I've never had this issue, but I mainly use tabs only, well try. Could it be possibly because of your millions of windows?

It does, sadly. Firefox leaks memory like nobody's business.

I'm a rebel and use Opera. My only annoyance with it now is that, just on Vista, it'll often stay open even when you close the last Opera window, with the process chewing up 50% CPU, or more accurately, 100% of one of the cores. It uses memory like crazy too, but not as bad as leaky Firefox. Even the new 9.2 does the hanging process thing so I hope either Microsoft or Opera fixes the problem, whoever's at fault.

                        I agree with your statement.

I keep seeing/hearing people said FF uses less resources than IE but my own experience for using both browsers for over two years shows other wise. On my laptop (Intel Pentium M 740, 1.5 GB RAM) I always run into memory problem with FF. When FF's hogging up memory by having many tabs/browsers open, if close all tabs/browsers but one, it still hogs up the memory. You have to close all of them for memory to clear up. I never have that problem with IE (both 6 and 7).

With that said, I find myself using FF more and more everyday. Other than my complaint about memory, FF is rock solid.

FF is my main browser, but IE7 is growing on me!

After having to do a presentation which included pdf files and browsing a prototype web site, I was pretty pleased with how quickly firefox was loading and how I could use saved sessions and things like that. Despite the increase of memory it sometimes requires (probably due to leaking) it still performs swell.

Firefox memory leak? It doesn’t have one. Unfortunately, because of the way it’s configured to run out of the box it *looks* like it has one. Follow these simple steps to get your Firef…
