    Python or Ruby ? Vote !

    Hi,

    What would you recommend and why ? Python or Ruby ?

    Please don't answer both. I am not Napoleon – I have to do things one at a time

    Regards,

      This is my list for now:

      Pro Python:
      1) More widespread and more generic language used for building web sites, GUI interfaces, mathematical applications ...
      2) It is faster (where I read that ?!);
      3) Better support on web hosts;
      4) A bigger community;

      Pro Ruby:
      1) Better OOP approach - everything is an object in Ruby;
      2) Just 1 framework - ROR (all the developers are concentrated on this)

            Add Monty Python as a choice then.

                  No experience with either so I picked Ruby because it sounds cool

                    The fact that Ruby doesn't have primitives I think is so incredibly awesome. I love being able to:

                    4.times { puts "Hello" }

                    I only wish that it used curly braces instead of the stupid def/end business.

                      I would say Python myself, but that is only because I have had more experience with it.
