    wow.. that isn't too good

I hope it's not additionally charged... Especially when you have to fork out $160 for a licence.

Creating the addons cost money... Someone has to pay for the development costs.

Then why would someone buy it, if people at vBorg already have free hacks of these? I'm not sure how you make your money, but $160 + what ever else on top of that isn't too cheap. I see the cost in creating addons, but I thought these addons were included in vBulletin? Also, they never posted anything about costs on the annoucement?

The price (or lack there of) has not been stated. Even if some products are free, undoubtable vbulletin will have future products that will cost money.

Then why would someone buy it, if people at vBorg already have free hacks of these?
Because 75% of people presently polled will buy purchase them.

Support. Several hacks I have been using or want to use have been abandoned or took forever to upgrade to vb 3.5. I even had to write a converter for one of them as I did not want to lose all the data my members submitted.

                This means not free.

At first I was upset, the I thought : "That's gone make the difference". Less people willing to pay and less site with these features, that's good for the ones who are not afraid to invest in hi-level community.

IPS charges for all their add-ons and are quite popular, so I don't think the fact that Jelsoft's add-ons won't be free isn't much of a turn-off. Actually, considering that vB is commerical software, you'd assume that any additional products that tie into it will cost money, as well.

If Jelsoft made them free, think of all the people who would leave IPB for vB

Just because people are able to push a simple VOTE button, doesn't mean it will be easy for them to push a PURCHASE button. People can talk, but some people can't talk and keep their word.

That's what I thought, but Floris apparently said no.

Floris hasn't said NO or YES... he said he isn't sure what Jelsoft will do. But he was saying that based off scripts and plugins they have given out, they've never charged for any of them.

I will wait to see what the blog looks and feels, hope that a back-end demo of both scripts are available for testing.

None. Wordpress does a fine job for my blog needs and I don't need a project tool addon.

For the same reason you bought vBulletin instead of using SMF et al. It never even occurred to me that these products might be free. I'd be amazed if at least one of them isn't paid-for.

Anyway, whether or not I buy depends on the price. I think calling the blog software "worthless" without SEO features is rather misguided frankly. Not least because vBulletin has scant few SEO features of it's own, quite sincerely not rendering it worthless.
