                You can check big-boards.com for objective point of view of how many "big" web sites prefer vB over other forum solutions. You will see that all competitor software together is about 50%, and the other 50% is vbulletin on its own.

                        I like how vBulletin keeps your post rank fairly accurate, whereas Invision Power does not deduct any post deletions.
