    Cordless Mouse Battery Life

I have a MS Wireless Mouse 700 and the batteries last less than a month. Can the type of mouse pad I use affect battery life?

Probably not, but my mouse batteries only last 8-12 hours.

Mine typically lasts for 4 days becuase of the high amount of use I have.

My old Logitech MX1000 used to last about 4 days I think. This newer one, MX Revolution, lasts me about 2.

Why do you all use wireless if it lasts that short an amount of time?

I got a MS Wireless Optical 2 and indeed, 4 weeks of use is about what I get from it. Dilly, I don't really think a month is such a short time, and I use rechargable batteries, so it's no biggie.

Use rechargeables, buy a 15 min battery recharger "I user Rayovac myself", and keep an extra set of batteries always recharged on hand..
Do the same for wireless keyboard..

Yeah that's fair enough, but is it just for the sake of having it wireless? Or does it actually serve some other purpose.

I use rechargeable, but I have a desk that with no keyboard slot and I don't feel like having my mouse wire hanging over the front of it.

My keyboard is wired, I don't care about that. But a wire on the mouse always annoys me, much more free with wireless

My logitech optical wireless mouse is used at least 8+ hours per day and the last batteries lasted almost a year. I changed out the batteries over 6 months ago and they are still going strong. No magic batteries. Its the mouse that uses batteries differently.
