              There are several theories. According to Jelsoft, it officially stands for nothing, although others claim that it stands for "virtual," since vB was first designed for VBWorld, while still others claim that it came about from incrementing "u" by one, since vB was originally a PHP-based vesion of UBB.

                  Any of those explanations given by Quillz above are valid, but in truth the 'v' of vBulletin is just there because it's cool.
